This Lord of the Rings Map from J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit depicts the epic quest in which Bilbo Baggins and a band of dwarves led by Thorin Oakenshield, grandson to Thror, travel together to the Lonely Mountain to claim the dwarves long lost gold.
This map, as first explained in Chapter One was made by Thror, Thorin's grandfather, and given to Gandalf for safe-keeping. The map shows a secret entrance into the mountain kingdom which the dwarves plan to use to avoid the dreadful dragon and reclaim their stolen gold.
And that's all I'll tell of the story!
The Lord of the Rings Map measures 10.5" x 15" and is made with glossy whiteboard with a 1/2" walnut frame.
I was gifted the Four Book Series (The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, The Two Towers and the Return of the King) in 8th Grade by a foreign exchange student living with my family in Western NY. I still have the book set today and have read it many times. The book series, along with any of my Lord of the Rings maps and signs would make an amazing Birthday or Christmas gift for any avid or aspiring reader.
