By using photo enhancing software, I can transform your photo into a digital sketch which highlights contrasts and makes it suitable for laser engraving.
One of my customers wanted to gift her friends their favorite image of their long-time house in Boone, North Carolina which they had just sold. By digitally enhancing the photo, we translated it into some wonderful contrasts and shading which pulls out the details from the original picture.
For photo engraving we recommend using Hard Maple, a wonderfully golden-colored light wood which engraves in some beautiful shades of brown. The project pictured below was engraved on a Maple slab measuring 15" x 18" by just over one inch thick.
Another customer wanted us to laser engrave a sign for their newly constructed cabin which they affectionately named "The Lookout" in memory of their beloved dog, Loki.
Our Photo Laser Engraving Service process:
- After purchasing the Photo Engraving Service, forward us your photo via email (victorwoodforge at gmail dot com). Note that the higher the quality of image, the higher the quality of laser engraving.
- Please let me know of any wording that you would like. And even if you're not completely sure of what you'd like, that's completely fine, we will work through the process together.
- Once I receive your photo and any wording, then the three-step process will begin.
- Step One - I will digitally enhance your photo in the most popular versions and send those digital mockups to you either by text or email for approval. I can crop images and enhance blemishes as well so no worries if the photo is not perfect.
- Step Two - Once the photo is approved we move to layout. It's here that we decide on any text that you would like to add, if any. I have access to hundreds of fonts and during this step I will send digital mockups with different font selections for you to choose from.
- Step Three - After our layout is finalized, now we decide on size, materials, stains, paints, finishes and hangers. Note that my maximum engraving size is 14"x20" on a 15"x25" slab
- From start to finish, the design process generally takes 1-3 days.
